Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam has mourned the death of 66 persons, who were aboard EgyptAir flight MS804 that crashed into the Mediterranean on Thursday.
In statements to MENA, the Mufti expressed his sincere condolences to families of Egyptian and non-Egyptian victims.
Fifty-six passengers, including 30 Egyptians, 15 French and 11 of other nationalities along with 10 crew members, were on board the Airbus A320.
Radar lost contact with the flight at 2:45 Cairo local time while it was at an altitude of 37,000 feet.
The flight took off from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on Wednesday 23:09 Paris local time then disappeared from radar after entering the Egyptian airspace.
Earlier in the day, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced that they had found some parts of the plane.
In a statement, the Armed Forces said that personal belongings of passengers and parts of the plane's wreckage had been found some 290 kilometers north of Alexandria city.
