US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday made a phone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to express his sincere condolences for the death of 66 persons, who were aboard EgyptAir flight MS804 that crashed into the Mediterranean on Thursday.
Kerry pledged, during the call, that the US will continue its support for ongoing efforts with regard to investigations and search operations for wreckage of the doomed plane, according to a statement Friday by the US Department of State.
The two ministers stressed they would remain in close contact in this regard, added the statement.
Earlier in the day, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced that they had found some parts of the plane.
In a statement, the Armed Forces said that personal belongings of passengers and parts of the plane's wreckage had been found some 290 kilometers north of Alexandria city.
