Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah expressed deepest condolences to the families of the victims of Wednesday's accident near the Saudi-Jordanian border.
At least 16 Palestinians were killed and 33 others injured when their bus, which was carrying Palestinian pilgrims seeking to perform Umrah (the lesser pilgrimage to Mecca), overturned near the Jordanian-Saudi border.
"We received, with profound sorrow, the news of the accident of the pilgrims. I hope their soul rest in peace and I wish the injured a speedy recovery," Hamdallah said.
Meanwhile, he hailed Jordanian stance in supporting Palestine in such a bad situation and in its efforts exerted to rescue the injured and provide them with medical care.
The wounded are being treated in Jordanian hospitals.
