The White House extended condolences of the United States to Egypt and France over the victims of EgyptAir plane that vanished from the radar at dawn Thursday.
In a press briefing, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the United States offered condolences to families of the victims and aid to Egyptian and French authorities investigating the crash.
"It's too early to say what may have caused this disaster," he said.
"The investigation is under way. And investigators will consider all of the potential factors that could have contributed to the crash," he added.
The EgyptAir Airbus A320 jet, with 66 passengers and crew members on board, was en route from Paris to Cairo when it disappeared from radar over the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday.
