Egypt is keen to preserve its history
Luxor - Mohammed Aladaissi

Egypt is keen to preserve its history Luxor - Mohammed Aladaissi Egyptian and foreign archaeologists have confirmed that they will reinstate the statues of King Amenhotep III to the Kom el-Hitan area of Luxor, after renovating them for a month. The sculptures were discovered alongside statutes of King Memnon, in a dilapidated condition near the agricultural site last month. A team of Egyptian archaeologists, led by Mohamed abdel-Maksoud, was given the responsibility of renovating the statutes and returning them to the temple. The EU-Egyptian Archaeological Mission has backed the project to preserve four huge statutes of King Amenhotep III that were discovered three years ago. Amenhotep III was the ninth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. He ruled Egypt from June 1386 to 1349 BC.
