The Embassy of Japan in Cairo has denied news about cancelling a school project in Egypt following a decision by the Education Ministry here to postpone academic studies at those schools.
Tokyo will continue to dispatch expertise to Cairo to help with development projects in the Arab country and provide loans to establish them, the embassy said in a statement Tuesday.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is still working to apply the Japanese educational system at government schools in Egypt, the embassy stressed, noting it has been doing so since the beginning of last year.
The Japanese government will continue to act with the Egyptian Education Ministry to guarantee Japanese schools in Egypt would be operative as soon as possible, it added.
