Temperatures set to drop to near-freezing Algiers - Khaled Alouache Algeria’s meteorological body has released a special bulletin forecasting more rain and snow across the country, as temperatures look set to dip significantly in 16 provinces in central and eastern Algeria. Recent severe weather is expected to last until Monday. Up to 20 centimetres of snow is expected to fall in some areas, at latitudes of 400-600 metres, while Sétif, Bordj Bou Arréridj, Béjaïa, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira could see 50 centimetres of snowfall. Temperatures will range from eight to 12 degrees on the coast, and between five and two in higher regions. Meteorological spokesman Ibrahim Ambar said the weather disturbance is caused by an extremely active low-pressure front coming from Europe.
