The activities of the second edition of the Radio and Television Mondial opened Sunday in the Saladin Citadel of Cairo. President of the Federation of Arab Producers Ibrahim Abu Zekry delivered a speech at the beginning of the ceremony, welcoming all the attendees. Abu Zekry thanked the Arab states for their participation in the event, affirming that the Arabs will remain "one hand" against the calls of backwardness and illiteracy. During the ceremony, Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL) Nabil el-Araby as well as Jordanian and Egyptian ministers and media persons were honored. The mondial's guest of honor this year is Jordan.
