1st Ship docks Brega Tripoli - Emad Agag A spokesman for the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, Arish Said, has said that the port of the city of Brega resumed work on Thursday after a ship docked there the first time since the outbreak of the Libyan revolution in February 2011. Said explained in a phone conversation with Arabstoday that the first commercial ship docked on Thursday dawn in the Brega oil port, which had halted its work due to the damage caused by pro-Gaddafi forces. Said said: “This is a new victory of the February revolution after the fall of Gaddafi’s regime...this is the first fruit the harbour workers pick after they exerted their efforts for the sake of the resuming export and import operations, in order to support the national economy.” Brega is a major port for the global oil trade as most companies with a base in Libya export petrochemical products through its quays.
