A delegation from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce signed a memo of understanding with the Federation of Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to enhance the bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
The memo-signed on sidelines of 33rd Trade Expo Indonesia- aims at preparing the basis of developing trade relations between Syria and Indonesia through exchanging visits between businessmen from the two countries and considering the available opportunities.
A session of talks was held between the two sides ahead of signing the memo during which head of the delegation of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Fayssal Saif underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation and trade exchange between the two sides.
Saif called upon Indonesian businessmen to participate in the reconstruction process in Syria after the elimination of terrorists and the return of security and stability to the country.
Meanwhile the delegation met Special Envoy of the President of Indonesia Alwi Shihab who expressed appreciation of the Syrian leadership, government and people.
Shihab also expressed desire to visit Syria accompanied by a delegation of Indonesian businessmen.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bolstering trade exchange between the two countries through increasing the importation of the Syrian agricultural products and other products which Syria is famous for and which Indonesia is in need for.
The Syrian delegation participated in 33rd Trade Expo Indonesia which is one of the largest expos in Indonesia, to get acquainted with the trade and investment opportunities provided by the exhibition in which more than 1100 Indonesian companies participated.
