Atletico Mineiro eased their relegation worries on Thursday evening with a 2-1 triumph over Coritiba in the Brazilian Campeonato. Neto Berola put the home team ahead in the 19th minute and Leonardo Silva doubled their advantage 11 minutes from time. Substitute Bill pulled a goal back in the 89th minute for Coritiba, but it was not enough to deny Atletico a victory which moved them up to 14th. Elsewhere, fifth-placed Flamengo and fourth-spotted Figueirense played out a goalless draw which left the latter a point ahead of their rivals with three games left in the battle for a top-four finish. Finally, Paulo Henrique Ganso's last-gasp equaliser secured a 1-1 draw for Santos against 10-man Atletico Goianiense. Jose Leonardo had put the visitors ahead nine minutes before half-time and they looked on course for all three points despite the 62nd-minute dismissal of Agenor, but Ganso's last-gasp intervention earned the hosts a share of the spoils.
