Hoffenheim brought an end to Bayern Munich's winning streak by holding them to a goalless draw at the Rhein-Neckar Arena today. The Bavarians had won their last ten coming into today's game, but were made to settle for their first draw of the season. However, the draw extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to three points. Bastian Schweinsteiger had a goal disallowed for Bayern, who still managed to extend their record of not conceding a goal for over a month and a half. Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has not had to fish a ball out of the back of his net since 15 August, on the opening day of the Bundesliga season, but that almost changed in the 22nd minute. The keeper had to stretch to tip Marvin Compper's header past the post as Hoffenheim showed no fear against the league leaders. Indeed, the home side grew in confidence as the first half progressed and were looking the more dangerous of the two sides before the interval with Ryan Babel's acrobatic shot going straight at Neuer. Bayern's first real chance arrived five minutes into the second half when Mario Gomez set up Toni Kroos inside the penalty area, but he delayed too long and Isaac Vorsah managed to block his shot. It was Vorsah, again, who got in a block to deny Thomas Muller as Bayern started to improve going into the last 20 minutes. Schweinsteiger had the ball in the back of the net in the 70th minute when he tapped in after Tom Starke fumbled Daniel van Buyten's header, but the flag was raised for offside to deny the German international. That was the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock as they shared the spoils on a hot afternoon in Baden-Wurttemberg.
