Bordeaux claimed their second home win of the season as they beat fellow Ligue 1 strugglers Nancy 2-0 at Stade Chaban-Delmas. Jaroslav Plasil got Les Girondins off to the perfect start when he opened the scoring in the first minute before Carlos Henrique sealed all the points in the second half. The result leaves Nancy stuck in the bottom three, while Bordeaux climb to midtable following two consecutive wins. Plasil set the home side on the path to victory with less than one minute on the clock. David Bellion's 20-yard strike hit the right post and landed at the feet of the midfielder who fired the rebound into the back of Guy N'Dy's net. Boosted by their early goal, Bordeaux continued to apply pressure in the first half, with Bellion trying his luck again from distance only for N'Dy to make a simple save. Plasil saw another effort denied in the 23rd minute before Nancy's Djamel Bakar missed a golden chance to equalise two minutes before half-time when he fired the ball over the bar with only the goalkeeper to beat. Bordeaux put themselves into a comfortable lead after the break when Plasil's corner was struck home by Henrique in the 52nd minute. Nancy almost pulled one back following a rare attack ten minutes later when Lossemy Karaboue picked out Bakar in the area, but the midfielder's header was saved by Girondins goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso.
