The final day of the transfer window saw some of the club's in the BBVA Primera Liga busy in putting the final touches to their squads with players arriving and leaving various clubs. Real Madrid said goodbye to Royston Drenthe, who joined Everton on loan, while Pedro Leon moved on loan to Getafe and Fernando Gago will spend this season with Roma. Atletico Madrid sealed a loan deal with German side, Wolfsburg that allows Diego Rivas to move to the Vicente Calderon for the coming season, while confirming the transfer of Brazilian midfielder, Elias, to Sporting Lisbon. FC Barcelona were able to cash in on that activity and loan Alexander Hleb to Wolfsburg. Villarreal were also involved in last minute transfer activity, paying 8 million Euros for Mallorca's Jonathan de Guzman and also buying Zaragoza striker Ikechukwu Uche, who they immediately loaned to recently promoted Granada. Granada also signed former Espanyol defender Moises Hurtado, who joins on a free transfer from Olympiacos, while Zaragoza covered Uche' s departure by signing Portuguese striker, Helder Postiga from Sporting Lisbon and Luis Garcia from Espanyol. Espanyol in turn took Sevilla midfielder Romaric on loan for the season, while 35-year-old striker Walter Pandiani returns to the club on a one-year contract, while Racing Santander covered their defensive weaknesses by signing Colombian defender Bernardo Espinosa from Sevilla.
