Chelsea target Luka Modric has his price

The Croatian midfielder has been linked with a move to Chelsea all summer, with the Blues being told by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that the player is not for sale at any price after they tabled a reported £22 million bid. However, Bond told talkSPORT: "We desperately don't want to lose him, but everyone has a price. "If somebody came along and the money turns your head and he did go – although the chairman is adamant he doesn't want to sell him – then we'd have to get on with it. "Transfers are part and parcel of the game but you don't want to lose your best players and he certainly is one of our best players." Modric is tied down to a long-term contract at White Hart Lane, having put pen-to-paper on a six-year deal last summer. The player has reportedly handed in a transfer request, with the 25-year-old accusing Levy of having reneged on a gentleman's agreement allowing him to speak to other clubs should a substantial offer come in.
