London - Arabstoday

Celtic manager Neil Lennon reflected on a "good day all round" after his side booked a place in the Scottish Cup final with victory over Aberdeen. The Dons were swept aside as Charlie Mulgrew, Joe Ledley, Kris Commons and Shaun Maloney struck for Celtic with no reply at Hampden."All bonuses and it's not often you get that," Lennon told BBC Scotland. "We've got a cup final to look forward to now. To win a semi-final as comfortably as that is very pleasing." Aberdeen were reduced to 10 men after 18 minutes when Andrew Considine fouled Gary Hooper to give Celtic a penalty. Anthony Stokes missed that spot-kick but Commons converted from 12 yards after the Dons were penalised again in the second half. "I asked Commons to take them beforehand and he changed his mind and Stokesy being Stokesy put his hand up and said, 'I'll take them'," said Lennon "So, I was a wee bit miffed when he missed it but he played very well, his movement was excellent and I felt his performance deserved a goal. The two of them (Stokes and Hooper) dovetailed again quite well. "We were patient and there was a good balance to the team and a lot of attacking play, good passing. "We were a wee bit sloppy in the final third in the first half and our set-piece deliveries were poor but we tidied that up in the second half and you saw the end product. "I didn't think we worked the goalkeeper well enough although I thought he had a super game, he made some great saves. "We moved the ball a lot quicker in the second half and made Aberdeen tire, which we felt they would do as the game wore on. We've got good attacking options to come off the bench with Shaun Maloney and Paddy McCourt and it was good to get Daniel Majstorovic 10-15 minutes of football as well. "We wanted to take this as a league game, a must-win game and I thought the approach and application was very good and there was no shortage of quality. I thought we looked a decent team against a very resolute Aberdeen." Lennon's focus now returns to the Scottish Premier League with Celtic facing Kilmarnock on Wednesday before travelling to Ibrox on Sunday for a potential title-decider against Rangers. "We've still a bit of work to do," added Lennon. "The championship's our priority and we've got a tough week ahead of us. "It's been a good day for the club and I'm delighted for the supporters."
