Tonight's heavyweight encounter in Ligue 1 failed to excite as Paris Saint-Germain and Lille played out a goalless draw at the Parc des Princes. After crashing out of the UEFA Europa League PSG have little more than the Ligue 1 title to vie for, and a win in front of their own fans would have put them above Montpellier into first place. They had to settle for a point, though, which sees them move level on points at the top, while Lille sit a further two points behind. Lille, defending a 15-game unbeaten run, started well and Florent Balmont drove at the heart of the home defence before driving wide. Nene's fizzing corner for PSG then caused Mickael Landreau some problems in the Lille goal, and Javier Pastore's pass set Kevin Gameiro free only to see him hit wide as the hosts enjoyed a spell of pressure. That was as good as it got in the first half, though, and Pastore fired wide at the start of the second to suggest things were not about to get better. Nene was the next to fire wildly, before Lille stirred, with Mathieu Debuchy having a header cleared off the line by Salvatore Sirigu. Idrissa Gueye had the next opportunity for Lille, but blasted wide when he would have been better to place his effort, and, even though Rudi Garcia's men continued to press, they got no closer than Ireneusz Jelen's late hit that was kept out by Sirigu.
