The New Zealanders secured their ninth win of the season thanks to a first-half goal from Manny Muscat and a second-half brace from Jeremy Brockie.
The Phoenix trail A-League leaders Perth Glory by four points, although they have played a game more.
In the day's other game, Central Coast Mariners were 2-0 winners against Melbourne City.
Mitchell Duke's first-half brace wrapped up victory for the Mariners, who recorded only their second win of the campaign.
