PSV Eindhoven closed the gap on AZ Alkmaar at the top of the Eredivisie to three points with a 6-1 thrashing of FC Groningen. Six different players got on the scoresheet for the home side, who were 3-0 up at the break thanks to goals from Kevin Strootman, Dries Mertens and Zakaria Labyad. Georginio Wijnaldum made it 4-0 at the start of the second half before Nicklas Pedersen replied for Groningen. But further strikes from Tim Matavz and Ola Toivonen gave the scoreline an even more one-sided look. A goal by Yuri Rose four minutes from time saw De Graafschap claim their first away win of the season with a 2-1 victory at VVV-Venlo. Michael Uchebo put VVV ahead after 17 minutes, a lead they held on to until 16 minutes from the end when Rydell Poepon levelled. The game was heading for a draw before Rose slotted home as De Graafschap moved five points ahead of their struggling hosts at the wrong end of the table. NAC Breda and Heerenveen shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Filip Djuricic fired Heerenveen ahead just after the half-hour mark but NAC turned the tide with an Anthony Lurling strike before a Ramon Zomer own goal gave them the half-time advantage. The visitors levelled, though, through Darryl Janmaat just past the hour mark. Mads Junker scored twice in two second-half minutes as Roda JC comfortably beat Heracles Almelo 3-1. Willy Overtoom pulled one back for Heracles from the penalty spot after 76 minutes but it was scant consolation as Sanharib Malki added Roda's third soon after.
