FC Twente maintained their position atop UEFA Europa League Group K with an emphatic victory against Odense BK. Third in the Eredivisie, it was no surprise to see Twente in charge throughout against an OB side beaten in four of its last seven domestic fixtures. First-half goals from Wout Brama and Emir Bajrami set the Dutch outfit on their way, with Nacer Chadli and Luuk de Jong striking either side of Djiby Fall's header to ensure a comfortable triumph. OB had lost just two of their previous 16 European home games, but it was the visitors who were more at ease in their surroundings. Consummate in possession, Twente's early dominance was epitomised by their delightful opener. Ola John picked out Brama and the instrumental midfielder exchanged passes with De Jong in a congested penalty area before lifting over Mads Toppel. John, at his most potent on the left, showed himself to be equally menacing centrally, bending a splendid 20-metre shot beyond Toppel but against the frame of the goal. Co Adriaanse's team did not have to wait long for a second, however, Bajrami dispossessing Bernard Mendy on the left, drifting infield past a static OB defence and finishing powerfully. Two should have become three soon after the interval when De Jong was gifted time and space eight metres out to control on his chest, then his knee, and blast over. OB finally tested Nikolay Mihaylov just after the hour, Bashkim Kadrii the man denied following an exquisite turn. Any impetus from that brief threat was soon extinguished, though, Chadli snaffling the ball from Toppel's parry to make it 3-0. Djiby came off the bench to give OB a glimmer of hope with a bullet header, but Twente had the last word when De Jong volleyed Chadli's cute first-time pass beyond Toppel.
