Manchester City have fined Carlos Tevez four weeks' wages after finding him guilty of misconduct, the club announced tonight. The player has also been warned as to his future conduct following an investigation into his behaviour on the bench during last month's UEFA Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old, who attended a disciplinary hearing last Friday, was also suspended for two weeks but that punishment is deemed to have already been served. Tevez was suspended for two weeks while City conducted their investigation into claims by manager Roberto Mancini that he refused to come on as substitute during the game at the Allianz Arena on 27 September. Tevez denied those allegations and blamed a misunderstanding, saying he had merely refused to warm up, something he deemed unnecessary as he had already done so. The club, however, in a statement posted on their website, have found the Argentinian guilty of five breaches of contract and Tevez has 14 days to decide whether to appeal to the City board of directors. "Following a detailed investigation and associated hearing, a disciplinary panel has upheld the charge of misconduct," City said. "Five separate breaches of contract formed the basis of the decision by the panel. "As a result Carlos Tevez has been fined four weeks? wages and has been suspended for a period of two weeks (deemed to have already been served). He has received a written warning as to his future conduct."
