Uganda' s University side Ndejje Elites on Tuesday traveled to Tunisia to take part in the 2016 African Women Volleyball Club Championship.
The event which will attract top teams from the continent including record winners Kenya Pipeline and Cup holders Al Ahly (Egypt) will run April 20-May 1.
"We have a strong team that is capable of putting up a good show in the competition. We have set our target on the semi finals," said Ndejje Elites coach Johnson Kawenyera.
The likes of Veronica Aanyu, Emma Mwangi, Sharon Amito, Joan Tushemeirewe, Kurtha Kagoya and Keren Nyakecho will all be making their first international appearances at this stage.
Another Ugandan team Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC), which finished seventh on their maiden appearance in the event last year, will miss the event because of lack of funds.
