Vasco da Gama moved level on points with Corinthians at the top of the Campeonato Brasileiro despite only drawing 2-2 at Atletico Paranaense on Thursday. Corinthians suffered a surprising defeat by Botafogo 24 hours earlier and Vasco managed to partially capitalise on that as Elton's brace - with goals in the 65th and 81st minutes - saw the visitors come from two goals down to draw. Paulo Baier and Joffre Gueron had put Atletico 2-0 up by half-time. Santos were downed 2-1 away to Atletico Mineiro as star man Neymar saw red. Humberlito Borges' penalty had cancelled out Humberto Rever's early opener but Magno Alves' own spot-kick won it for the home side in the 58th minute after Crystian was sent off in the incident. Tempestuous striker Neymar was then dismissed five minutes from time. Fluminense beat Coritiba 3-1 at home as poacher Fred scored a hat-trick with goals in the 24th, 72nd and 75th minutes. Marcos Aurelio had levelled for the visitors.
