Majid Al Balushi and Sridevi Vempati won gold in the under and over-25 divisions respectively at the inaugural Women's Table Tennis Championship, recently organised by Dubai Sports Council (DSC) in association with the UAE Women's Sports Committee at Al Shabab Al Arabi Club. The initiative by the committee members to organise the event is aimed at supporting and encouraging women to participate in sports. The day-long championship saw 100 women participants of all age groups. "The Championship organised by the UAE Women's Sports Committee was a great success and a significant step in the right direction on the path to achieving our strategic goals," said Laila Suhail, vice president of UAE Women Sports Committee, member of DSC Board and executive committee and President of Dubai Women's Sports Committee in Dubai Sports Council.
