Algiers - Arab Today

Algerian and Guinean football teams are to cross swords Wednesday in a friendly at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium of Blida (8h30 local time). This is the unique test for both teams before the sixth and last day of the second round of 2014 World Cup qualifiers next September. Indeed, this game will be advantageous to coach Bosnian Vahid Halilhodzic, in preparation to Mali clash next 10 September in Blida, to end positively the second round and notably boost Desert Foxes’ FIFA rankings which will be taken into account during the draw for World Cup final qualifying round. "Two victories in a row (against Guinea and Mali) would be important to improve our FIFA rankings in September which will count for the draws of final round," Bosnian coach told a news conference held on Monday in Blida.
