As the seething summer heat continues to cool down, the track temperature at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is beginning to rise fast.
The new national racing season has flagged off in Sakhir and another action-packed event awaits race fans this weekend at "The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East".
Following the huge success of the Open Track Night exclusive for motorbikes last week, BIC is this time hosting an Open Track Night for cars on Friday (September 19).
Drivers of all skill levels are being invited to take their very own cars and be a part of an exciting three-hour activity that offers the unique thrill of racing at a world-class motorsport facility. The experience is further enhanced by BIC’s all-new state-of-the-art track lighting system which brilliantly lit up the track on its international debut at this year’s Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix held in April.
Friday’s event will be held non-stop from 7pm to 10pm with an Open Pit-Lane. Registration can be done from 6pm onwards on site.
The cost to take part is BD90 per person. Spectators wishing to watch the action will be able to get into the circuit for free.
While participants will be able to push their cars to their very limit, all the action will be taking place with the highest of international safety standards being practised.
Before getting out on track, each car must first go through scrutineering. Drivers must also own a valid licence and must be wearing the appropriate clothing along with closed-toe footwear.
Meanwhile, guests looking for a different kind of adrenaline rush can opt for a passenger ride in an ultra-light and ultra-quick Caterham. The brief session is an additional activity available to the public on Open Track Night. It costs BD15 per person, and it offers its own unique kick for whoever participates.
