Syrian weightlifter Ahed Jegheli won a silver medal in the snatch event by lifting 105 kilograms in the 7th Mediterranean Games taking place in the Turkish city of Mersin. Jegheli is considered one of the best weightlifters in Syria's history, winning Asian championships five times and winning two gold medals in the 2009 Mediterranean Games held in Italy, in addition holding titles in countless regional and international events. Syrian athletes participating in the Mediterranean Games lost two matches on Tuesday in wrestling against Greek athletes. Source: SANA
