Ministers of sports and youth in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members states issued a number of resolutions and approved several proposals to ameliorate joint action in sports and youth-related events in their 29th meeting, held here Wednesday.
During the meeting, the ministers gave the thumbs up to a Kuwaiti proposal for organizing a cultural festival for GCC youth and assigned Kuwait to make necessary arrangements and set a date for the first edition.
They also agreed on a Saudi proposal to integrate some of the people with slight handicaps into the GCC youth events. The conferees chose Italy to be the host of an event to enhance interaction between Gulf youth and other world youth.
They ratified the youth committee's five-year plan of action (2015-2020), the training committee's plan for 2015 and the GCC youth houses plan for 2016.
The ministers also expressed full support to Qatar's host of the World Cup 2022.
Kuwait's delegation to the meeting was headed by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.
