Spanish football club Getafe has agreed a fee with Emirati club al-Jazira for the transfer of their Moroccan midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada. In a statement, Getafe confirmed that Barrada would sign a four year contact with the Abu Dhabi club, for an undisclosed fee. Last week, Spanish newspaper Marca said that Barrada's representatives had opened talks with Qatari club al-Rayyan regarding a potential transfer. However, both parties failed to reach an agreement. The Moroccan international joined Getafe from Paris Saint-Germain in 2010, and put in a string of impressive displays at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, The 24-year-old was attracting interest from Russian, English and Italian clubs, but now looks set continue his footballing journey in the UAE.
