Indian Social Club (ISC) crushed Muscat Cricket Coaching Centre A (MCCC A) by a massive margin of 137 runs in an Al Ansari Group of Companies sponsored C Division 25 overs a side match played during the weekend at the Municipality Ground No.2 at Al Amerat. The architect of the win was Shreyas Malhotra who scored a brilliant unbeaten 50 and thereafter bagged 3 for 12 off 2 overs. Deciding to bat ISC scored 193 for the loss of eight wickets off their quota of 25 overs with major contributions came from Bishen Bhalla 46 and Ansar Ansari 31. Gayash Dias was the pick of the bowlers ending with figures of 4 for 23 and Ivan Manjila picked up two wickets giving away 36 runs off 5 overs each. MCCC A requiring a fraction of under eight runs per over playing with 10 men were bundled out for a paltry 56 runs off 12 overs with only Rathan Acharya entering double figures scoring 24. Mohammed Abbas lent valuable support to Shreyas claiming 3 for 15 off 4 overs. RAY win In an Oman Cricket organised G Division Group B match played in the afternoon at the same venue Ruqun Al Yaqeen (RAY) guided by a superb unbeaten 91 from Rajesh Ayyavu registered their first win of the season, when they defeated OCT Muscat B by 76 runs. Electing to bat Ruqun Al Yaqeen playing with 10 men thanks to useful partnerships at the top scored 247 for the loss of five wickets off the 25 stipulated overs. Opening batsman Shelbbyn Michael 40 together with Rajesh put together 63 runs for the third wicket and thereafter a further 91 run fourth wicket partnership between Rajesh and Sandeep Rajan 35 helped swell the score. Requiring a mammoth 248 for victory OCT Muscat B aided by a 100 run partnership for the second wicket between opening batsman Essa Mohammed 80 not out and Abdul Aziz Qader 45 replied with 171 for the loss of five wickets at the end of 25 overs. Mohammed Imran picked up two wickets conceding 29 runs off 5 overs.
