A delegation from Kuwait National Judo Team headed on Saturday night to France in order to set a 20-day training camp in preparation for future championships.
Kuwait Judo Federation Treasurer Bader Al-Sharrad said in remarks to KUNA on Sunday that the training camp aims at preparing the team's players for the upcoming 30th edition of the Asian Judo Championship for both men and women, to be hosted by Kuwait on May 11.
The camp will include intensive morning and evening drills, besides playing a number of friendly matches with French national judo team players, considered a pioneer team in this field, besides other matches with a number of local judo teams, he said.
The Kuwaiti delegation will be headed by national coach Yousef Al-Enizi and Kuwait national team's first coach, besides a total of seven players namely: Mohammad Adel, Essa Al-Ali, Mishael Sh'aibi, Ghannam Al-Dekan, Hamad Al-Rashid, Mubarak Al-Enizi and Ali Al-Taweel, he said.
He expressed hope that this camp would achieve its goals and contribute to the improvement of physical capability of the players.
Al-Sharrad praised the role played by the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) Chaired by Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Sabah for the care he offers for the team and the efforts he exerts to hamper all the obstacles the team faces.
He expressed hope the players would achieve first places in the Asian championship as it will be organized in their homeland.
