Al-Rubaiaan told KUNA by telephone that he was "highly elated with this achievement," fruit of lengthy preparations and hard work. He praised his fellows, members of the team who helped him make the record score, one of the top five in the race. He affirmed that the "task was a hard one," facing 22 of the world top champions, adding that the record would encourage him and his team to worker harder to make better results in the next tournaments. "We have ended up in the ninth rank in the past tournament and advancing to fifth in this contest signals great determination on part of all the team members," Al-Rubaiaan added in his statement to Kuwait News Agency. Italian racer Alex Carella, representing the Qatari team, won the contest. Another foreigner, an American, also representing the Qataris, came second.
