The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has announced, on Thursday in Rabat, that the 2014 African Athletics Championship will be held in Morocco. This sports event is an opportunity to choose the best athletes who will represent Africa suring the upcoming continental championship due to take place the same year, President of the CAA, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, said in a press conference. Morocco is the sole candidate to organize the 2014 continental championship, which will bring together athletes from Africa, Europe, the Americas and Asia, Malboum said. He highlighted Moroccokey role in developing athletics infrastructure in Africa, saying that the Kingdom pioneered in several areas such as the introduction of this umbrella of sports to schools and the setting up of an athletics academy.
