Muscat Junior Pirates consisting of 100 young rugby players will travel to the annual Abu Dhabi Junior Rugby Festival to be held on November 16 and 17, to represent their club in one of the region's biggest events. Andy Andrews, director of Junior Rugby, said: "This is a milestone occasion for the club. Not only have we never been to Abu Dhabi before, but we have only been able to take a maximum of four teams to any previous events anywhere in the Gulf so far. This time we have ten teams and 100 children travelling that is huge! The big clubs in the region will certainly know that Muscat has arrived and needs to be taken seriously!" "Another first at this event will be a Muscat Colts team for U16's. They have not previously played competitive rugby outside of Muscat, so they are very much looking forward to putting their skills to the test, he added." "Supporting parents and players alike are looking forward to the challenge ahead and naturally hopeful that at least one team can bring home some silverware in recognition of all the hard work they have put in at weekly training sessions." As final preparations take place Andy Andrews said "This is going to be a great event and we thank our sponsors for investing in junior rugby in Oman it has a bright future." Times Of Oman
