Chairman of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah met with China's Minister in charge of the General Administration of Sport Liu Peng on Sunday, in the City of Nanjin, and praised the level of care and support extended to athletes in the country. Sheikh Ahmad recalled the many Chinese achievements in Asian and international sports venues, and praised the country's athletes' consistent drive towards excellence in their respective games. The country's top-notch sports facilities and infrastructure contribute to this success and aids the sports bodies in their quest to fulfill their goals as well as enable the state to competently host international events, he noted. The statement following the meeting of the two officials said Sheikh Ahmad and Peng discussed coordination and unifying stances on expected discussions in the domain of sports to maintain Asia's lead in the field. Peng thanked Sheikh Ahmad for his visit aimed at keeping up with Nanjin's preparations as the host of the upcoming Asian Youth Games, to be held in 2013. The official also noted the OCA had accomplished a great deal under the leadership of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad, through the training as well as technical and professional support provided to all athletes and cadres
