National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent on Sunday a congratulatory cable to Board Chairman of Qadsia club Sheikh Khaled Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the club's football team winning of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup of 2014.
Hailing the sports achievement, the speaker said Qadsia players properly and greatly represented Kuwaiti football sport in the championship.
He wished the Kuwaiti club more achievements and successes which would be certainly in the interest of the Kuwaiti sports sector in general.
Kuwait's Qadsia was crowned 2014 AFC Cup champions on Saturday after winning a penalty shoot-out 4-2 against Iraq's Irbil following a goalless draw at Maktoum bin Rashed Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.
Qadsia have been runners-up twice over the last four years, and lost out on the title last year to their local rivals, Kuwait SC, which won the last two editions.
