The 2012 Asia U-19 cricket cup began on Saturday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. To continue until 01 July 2012, the tournament witnesses the participation of eight teams including Qatar, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Malaysia. Qatar is placed in the Group B along with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The Group A consists of India, Pakistan, Nepal and host Malaysia. The picture shows Mr.M.A. Shahid, President, Mr Manzoor Ahmad, General Secretary, Mr Amjad Baig , Coach/Physio, Mr. Shamsuddin, Coach and Mr.Muhammad Akram along with the members of the team. Mr.Eisa Ali Ghanem from Olympic Committee leads the U-19 Qatar National Team along with Manager Mr.Manzoor Ahmad Mr. Manzoor Ahmad, General Secretary of the Qatar Cricket Association said “Qatar has qualified for U-19 Asia Cup and proud to participate with the support of Qatar Olympic committee. We are thankful to the Secretary General H.E Sheikh Saud Bin Abdulrehman Althani for his full support and his contribution for the development of Cricket in Qatar.” The following players have been selected in the team: Tamoor Sajjad,Ali Ishtiaq, Omer Ishtiaq, Uzair bin Amir, Zohaib Aslam, Jehangir, Abdul Kader Hamdoulay, Yasser Iqbal, Talal Khan, Mohammed Mirza, Abdullah Zahiruddin,Saad Khan Jadoon, Lokesh, Mohd Khan and Taha Mohammad.
