Authorities in Tunisia have postponed for an indefinite period all sports activities that were due to be held in the weekend, after riots that swept a number of states. Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) decided earlier in the week to postpone league fixtures scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday. Salafi-led protests broke out in a number of cities against works at an art exhibition that they deemed offensive to Islam. The protests saw criminal groups involved in torching and attacking several governmental buildings, where security forces fired teargas to disperse protesters. One man died and 62 security personnel were injured in the rioting that led to more than 160 arrests. (QNA)
