Dubai will host the fourth Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup (November 4-8) and with it, the III Fifa Beach Soccer Workshop and the first ever Beach Soccer Stars night, it was announced on Monday.
Dubai has been the host for the second most important beach soccer tournament in the world, only behind the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup, and the top world cup teams are regular entries for the Dubai event.
The workshop, the second in Dubai, will include the experts, referees, brand ambassadors and top officials of the sport. The symposium will focus on the growth of beach soccer and the bright future ahead. The first week in November will be all beach soccer in the city as there will also be the Beach Soccer Stars 2014 dinner and presentation.
This event is the first of its kind and will celebrate the sports' best. It will be a yearly occurrence and Dubai was selected as the host city because of its top-class facilities and familiarity and love for beach soccer.
The years' best coach, best goal, best player, best goalkeeper, rising star and the best five stars on the pitch will all be recognised at the function.
The Dubai Sports Council, beach soccer and Dubai have quickly become the perfect travel mates, in a relationship that lasts for more than 10 years now, and which began with friendly events, before hosting the continental Qualifiers to the Fifa Beach World Cup.
