The world's best divers have arrived in Dubai ahead of the second round of the FINA/NVC Diving World Series which will be held at the Hamdan Sports Complex from Thursday 19th – Saturday 21st March. Among those touching down yesterday were teams from Great Britain, Canada, Ukraine and China. A total of 68 divers from 14 countries will be competing in Dubai.
Amongst the arrivals were Great Britain's 10m star Tom Daley, China's 3m World Champion He Chong, and Ukraine's Illya Kvasha, who took gold ahead of He Chong in the 3m competition in Dubai in 2013. Canada's 10m World Championships silver medallists, Roseline Filion and Meaghan Benfeito, also flew in with their team.
China managed a clean sweep of the gold medals in round one of the Diving World Series in Beijing last weekend, and with the holders of ten current World Championships in their line-up for Dubai, the competition in the second round this weekend will be world-class.
Competition sessions will be held each day from 10am-12 noon and from 5pm-8pm. Tickets are Dh40 per day, available at the door. There is free entry for children under the age of 12.
