The Council for East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) has postponed the 2016 Nile Basin Club due to the busy schedule of member countries.
Sudan was previously set to host the second edition of the event from May 22 to June 4 in Khartoum.
"We have decided to postpone the event and move it to September this year," Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye told Xinhua on Tuesday.
He said the federations of Rwanda, Uganda, Djibouti and Ethiopia said that they could not send teams to the Nile Basin Cup because they were still busy with their respective leagues and also the qualifying ties for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Uganda's SC Victoria University are the defending champions after they defeated Kenya's AFC Leopards in the inaugural Cup in 2014 in Sudan.
