Chinese male weightlifers carried on with their domination at the World Championships as newcomer Tang Deshang won the 69-kilogram gold in style on Tuesday. The 20-year-old triumphed with a total of 341 kg, followed by Russian Oleg Chen with 336. Tang's teammate Wu Chao finished third with 335. Tang, who finished third in snatch with 155 kg, put on a mind-boggling show in the clean and jerk competition. He capped all his three successful attempts with a lift of 186 kg to claim his first ever world title. "This is the first time for me to compete in the World Championships, so it is my first world title," he said. "But for me, there is not much special feeling to be a world champion. It counts for little. The domestic Olympic selection competition will matter more." "To be honest, now I have no idea if I will go to London next year, as we have some equally good lifters back in China," he said.
