Dutch rider Tom Veelers from Skil-Shimano timed three hours 53 minutes and 30 seconds to win the third stage of 2011 Tour of Hainan here on Saturday. The second place went to Veelers' teammate Kenny Van Hummeland the third place to Mohd Harrif Salleh from Terengganu Cycling Team in Malaysia. Justin Jules from Velo-Club La Pomme Marseille in Latvia kept the yellow jersey for the first three stages for leading the general individual classifications. So far, Valentin Iglinskiy from Pro Team Astana retained the best Asian rider for the first three stages. Julien Antomarchi Velo-Club La Pomme Marseille in Latvia is still in the polka-dot jersey as there is no mountain at the third stage. Tom Veelers said: "we did a good job and we got the first and second place today. We still have chances but I am not sure that we will continue to win the first place. But we're going to make it." Kenny Van Hummel sang high of Han Feng, a Chinese rider in his team. He said, "Han is a great rider and he works very hard. He is very important for us and we need his help." He said that Han tried to chase the leading teams. A total of 122 riders from 19 cycling teams participated in the third stage starting from Xinglong County of Wanning city in Southeast Hainan Province to Wenchang city in Northern Hainan. Sunday will witness the 163.8km fourth stage from Wenchang city in Northern Hainan to Haikou, the capital city of South China's Hainan Province.
