Swiss superstar Roger Federer has become the seventh man in the Open Era to earn 800 career match wins after he beat Argentina's Juan Monaco 6-3, 7-5 in 85 minutes on Friday to book a place in the Paris Masters semifinals. It was Federer's third win over Monaco this year. The Swiss is still 424 victories shy of Jimmy Connors' all-time record of 1,242 match wins. "I only heard about it," admitted Federer. "It's nice. It's a lot of matches, a lot of tennis I've played - I know that. But I know there are many other players that have played more tennis than I have. So it's just another win, but it's a special one nevertheless, because 800 is definitely a big number." Third seed Federer, who also reached the Paris semifinals last year, goes on to meet ATP World Tour Finals qualifier and fifth seed Tomas Berdych.
