Paulo Henrique Ganso scored one goal and set up another as Sao Paulo defeated Ponte Preta 3-0 in Brazil's Serie A championship on Saturday.
The Brazil international midfielder assisted former Lyon and Roma winger Michel Bastos before slotting in Sao Paulo's second goal just after halftime. Wilder Guisao completed the rout by heading in an Alexandre Pato cross.
The result at the Morumbi stadium lifted Sao Paulo to fourth in the 20-team standings with 34 points while Ponte Preta fell to 12th.
In Saturday's only other match, Marcao scored in second-half injury time to hand Figueirense a 1-0 victory over Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro.
Four-time league winners Vasco remain at the foot of the standings with just 13 points from 21 matches.
