Kofler wins Kuusamo World Cup ski jump

Austria's Andreas Kofler won the opening leg of the World Cup individual ski jump here on Sunday, beating compatriots Gregor Schlienzauer and Thomas Morgenstern. All three had earlier Sunday helped Austria to victory in the World Cup team ski jump. Swiss jumper Simon Amman, four-time Olympic champion, elected to bypass Kuusamo and will make his seasonal debut at next weekend's meeting at Lillehammer in Norway. Olympic champions Austria won the rescheduled World Cup team ski jump here on Sunday. The team event, the opening leg of the season, was due to have been held on Saturday but was held over 24 hours due to high winds.
