After a nail biting game the Queensland Reds emerged victorious after beating the Canterbury Crusaders in the Suncorp Stadium to win their first ever Super rugby title since it went professional in 1995. Although down 7-6 at half time due to a Daniel Carter try, the Reds moved un-phased into the second half where key players Will Genia and Digby Ioane both scored tries to provide the points for their 18-13 victory. A strong season for the Reds who conceded few games, beating the Crusaders in their last meeting with a last minute penalty in the dying seconds making it 17-16. The Reds will undoubtedly enjoy their night tonight before returning to their countries to build for this season’s Tri-nations and World Cup this autumn.
