Ahly midfielder Ahmed Fathi resumed light training Thursday as he continued his recovery from a cartilage injury. Coach Manuel Jose is eager for Fathi to return to the squad for the clash against Stade Malien in the CAF Champions League on 14 May. Club doctor Ehab Ali has expressed his anger at the inclusion of Fathi in the squad for the African Champions League tie with Stade Malien as he yet to recover from the knee injury. "We must be careful with Fathi's injury as knee injuries can relapse if not rested enough," Ali told reporters after training Thursday. "Fathi needs ten days rehab to be fit to play a competitive match so probably won't be ready for the Stade Malien clash."
