With the midfielder having shown signs of recovery since suffering a cardiac arrest in March, he is now reportedly set to have a defibrillator inserted to prevent further problems.Bolton’s Fabrice Muamba is reportedly set to have a heart device fitted with a view to him returning to the playing side of football, according to The Daily Mirror. The former England Under-21 international was resuscitated and rushed to hospital following his cardiac arrest during an FA Cup tie at White Hart Lane last month. The 24-year-old has since been recovering at the London Chest Hospital where he has been showing signs of progress, with Trotters boss Owen Coyle revealing last week that the midfielder is walking again.Reports now suggest that Muamba is set to have a mini defibrillator inserted during a minor operation, in the hope that the device will offer him extra security should the troubles return. The surgery is said to involve the device being fitted underneath the skin, usually near the armpit, so as not to become obtrusive. The report adds that Muamba is set to return to his home in the north-west before this weekend, with Bolton being told he can resume training soon after.
