Egyptian athlete Youssef Mansour on Friday snatched Egypt's first gold medal, raising the country's medal tally to three at the 2017 Taekwondo Cadet Championships, currently hosted in Egypt's Sharm el Sheikh.
On Tuesday, two Egyptian female athletes got bronze medals.
More than 400 athletes are competing at the championships, including 229 male players and 195 female competitors at the Red Sea resort, with action taking place at the Youth and Sports Olympic Hall.
Twenty weight categories are being contested - ten each for males and females.
Competitors, taking part in the Cadet Championships, are aged between 12 and 14, where most of the equipment used will be the same as the Olympic Games.
This includes a Daedo protector and scoring system, an instant video replay system and octagonal mats.
The tournament lasts till August 28.
